How Much Does a Coffee Cart Cost for an Event in Brisbane?

The Can Man full mobile rig featuring the BYD Shark ute and matte black trailer setup for a Brisbane event

Coffee cart hire in Brisbane is a service where a professional barista brings a mobile espresso station to your location. This service is popular for corporate functions, construction site smoko runs, weddings, and community festivals. Most providers in South East Queensland offer a variety of packages. These packages typically include the equipment, a skilled barista, premium coffee beans, and all necessary milks. The cost usually covers a set number of hours or a specific volume of drinks. Unlike a fixed cafe, a mobile coffee cart provides flexibility for event organisers who want to serve high quality beverages in places without permanent facilities. In 2026, the industry has shifted toward self powered units that do not require venue electricity. This makes the logistics simpler for events in parks, depots, or remote worksites.

Who hires a coffee cart in Brisbane?

Event organisers are the primary customers for mobile coffee services. This includes corporate office managers planning a team breakfast or a product launch. They often look for a reliable way to keep staff caffeinated without everyone leaving the building.

Construction site managers and project leads also hire mobile coffee for their crews. A regular site run provides a morale boost for tradies on the tools. It ensures the team stays on site rather than driving to the nearest service station for average coffee.

Wedding planners and couples frequently book coffee carts for the gap between the ceremony and the reception. It provides a sophisticated non alcoholic option for guests. School fete committees and local sporting clubs also use mobile coffee vans to handle high volume crowds at weekend events.

How The Can Man operates

The Can Man delivers a mobile coffee experience that is entirely self sufficient. We do not ask for your power or your water. This is a significant factor in the total cost because many venues charge "power access fees" to vendors. Since we run off our BYD Shark ute, we eliminate that hassle and cost for you.

When we roll in, we are ready to serve within minutes. We use a commercial two group Expobar espresso machine. This is the same gear you find in a high end CBD cafe. We do not use pod machines or home kitchen equipment. Every drink is made to order by a trained barista. We handle the setup, the service, and the pack down. You just tell us where to park.

Barista quality coffee and secondary drinks

Barista coffee is our headline act. We serve everything from a standard flat white to specialty iced lattes. Our secondary line includes dirty sodas, energy sodas, and iced teas. These cold drinks are served in PET cans or cups for a unique "theatre" experience.

Our menu pricing is transparent. We do not have hidden fees for different types of milk or flavoured syrups.

Hot Coffee Menu

  • 8oz (Small): $5
  • 12oz (Large): $6
  • Espresso or Piccolo: $5
  • Milks: Full cream, skim, and all alternative milks are included in the price.
  • Syrups: All flavours are included in the price.

Signature Cold Drinks

  • 330ml PET Can: $7
  • 500ml PET Can: $9
  • Iced Teas: $5 for 330ml or $7 for 500ml.

We also run a loyalty program called The Can Club. If you book us for a regular site run or a multi day event, your guests or crew can benefit. Buy four drinks and the fifth one is free. This is managed through our digital system so there are no paper cards to lose.

The mobile trailer and the BYD Shark

The Can Man rig is a standout feature at any event. We tow a custom matte black trailer with Outback Orange trim. It looks professional and rugged. It fits into standard parking bays and tight event spaces.

The heart of the operation is the BYD Shark ute. This is an electric vehicle that provides the off grid power for our espresso machine and our refrigerators. This means there is no noisy, smelly petrol generator running in the background while your guests are trying to talk. It is a quiet and clean way to provide coffee at a corporate event or a quiet wedding ceremony.

Pricing for coffee cart hire in Brisbane

When you look at the cost of hiring a coffee cart in Brisbane, you will see a few different models. It is important to know what you are paying for so there are no surprises on the day.

The Flat Rate Model

Many corporate events prefer a flat rate. You pay a set fee for a window of time, such as two or three hours. This usually includes unlimited drinks for your guests. For a professional setup in Brisbane, expect to pay between $650 and $1,200 for a standard three hour corporate booking. The price fluctuates based on the number of baristas required and the expected volume.

The Per Cup Model

For community events or school fetes, the "user pays" model is common. The vendor charges the individual customer for each drink. Some organisers may need to pay a small "attendance fee" or "site fee" to ensure the vendor covers their basic costs if the crowd is small.

The Can Man Approach

The Can Man keeps pricing simple. We can provide a fixed quote for your event based on your headcount and hours. Because we do not have a fuel or generator cost, our overheads are stable. We do not charge extra for "special milks" like oat or almond. We believe a latte should cost the same regardless of the milk you choose.

Note: These figures are estimates for modelling purposes only and do not constitute a guarantee of earnings or specific results.

Trust and reliability

Reliability is the most important part of mobile coffee. If the coffee van does not show up, your event morale drops immediately. The Can Man is built on professional standards. We use commercial grade equipment that is serviced regularly.

Our self powered system is our biggest reliability win. We are not reliant on a venue's dodgy outdoor power point or a generator that might run out of fuel. If our ute is there, our coffee machine is hot. We are fully insured and follow all food safety regulations in the Redlands and Brisbane areas.

Frequently asked questions

Do you need to plug into my power?

No. The Can Man is fully self powered by our BYD Shark ute. We do not need your electricity or a noisy generator. This allows us to set up in parks, on construction sites, or in the middle of a paddock.

What is the minimum booking time?

We usually have a two hour minimum for private event bookings. For regular site runs for construction crews, we can work out a schedule that fits your smoko breaks.

Do you charge extra for oat or almond milk?

No. At The Can Man, all milks and syrups are included in our standard pricing. We do not believe in "alt milk taxes" for your guests or staff.

How many coffees can you serve per hour?

Our commercial two group machine and high speed grinder allow us to serve approximately 60 to 80 high quality coffees per hour with one barista. For very large events, we can discuss additional staffing.

Do you serve anything other than coffee?

Yes. While barista coffee is our main focus, we have a full range of specialty iced lattes, dirty sodas, and energy drinks. We also serve sparkling and still iced teas.

Are you insured?

Yes. The Can Man carries full public liability insurance and all required food business licenses for the Redlands and Brisbane regions.

Can you work in the rain?

Our trailer is a fully enclosed commercial unit. We can serve in most weather conditions as long as there is a safe place for our customers to stand.

How do I join The Can Club?

It is easy. You can sign up at the trailer when you order your first drink. It tracks your purchases digitally. Once you buy four drinks, your fifth one is on us.
