A Big Quarter on the Road: Every Event The Can Man Poured At This Year

The Can Man has had a big quarter on the road.
From the Gold Coast hinterland to the Darling Downs, the mobile coffee bar has served endurance athletes, school families, holiday park guests, junior sports clubs, gym competitors, campdraft crowds and festival audiences.
The run began at the Kokoda Challenge on 18 July 2026 and continued through to the Shark Rally on 19 and 20 September. It included seven events in 30 days, more than 1,100 drinks across four events, and a growing list of organisers asking The Can Man to come back.
This is the event record, as confirmed in The Can Man’s capability documents.
What this quarter shows
A mobile coffee business needs to do more than make a good coffee.
It needs to arrive on time, set up in different places, work through changing conditions and keep serving when the schedule runs long.
The Can Man’s record includes:
- 25 hours of continuous service at the Kokoda Challenge
- Seven events in 30 days, from 18 July to 16 August
- More than 1,100 drinks across four events
- Four repeat bookings in that 30 day window
- Six invitations to return
- Ten events this season
- Ten bookings secured through to May 2027
For organisers searching for coffee van hire Brisbane, event coffee Brisbane or mobile coffee Cleveland QLD, the record matters. It shows how the rig works across different types of events and different service conditions.
The events The Can Man served
Kokoda Challenge, Gold Coast
The quarter started with one of the biggest tests on the calendar.
The Kokoda Challenge ran from Mudgeeraba to Nerang on 18 and 19 July. The 96 kilometre endurance event takes competitors through the hinterland against a 39 hour cut off.
The Can Man served for 25 hours straight, including right through the night.
The menu included coffee, hot chocolate, energy drinks and pickle juice for trekkers and support crews. The Can Man has already been rebooked for all three Kokoda Challenge events in 2027.
Hinterland Schools Athletics Carnival
On Friday 24 July, The Can Man served at the Hinterland Schools Athletics Carnival at Currumbin Valley State School.
The morning was cold and the programme was long. The team served 200 coffees and hot chocolates for parents, teachers and officials.
It was a school event with a clear need for reliable service from the start of the day.
Broadwater Tourist Park
The next stop was Broadwater Tourist Park at Main Beach on 25 and 26 July.
The Can Man provided a full weekend of holiday park service on the foreshore. Both mornings began at sunrise, with coffee served to guests and campers straight from the trailer.
The trailer drew nothing from the park’s power. That is important for venues and holiday parks where available power may be limited or already allocated.
Wattles Junior Rugby League
On Saturday 1 August, The Can Man served at Wattles Junior Rugby League’s Grassroots to Greatness weekend.
More than 205 coffees were served for the club’s supporters.
The event was followed immediately by another booking the next day.
BFT Ashmore
On Sunday 2 August, The Can Man served competitors, coaches and spectators at BFT Ashmore on the Gold Coast.
It was a full day of competition, coming directly after the Wattles weekend. The two bookings showed the practical side of event coffee service. A mobile coffee bar needs to be ready for another crowd as soon as the previous event is finished.
AFL Darling Downs Junior Carnival
The AFL Darling Downs Junior Carnival took place on Sunday 9 August at Captain Cook Recreation Reserve in Toowoomba.
Under 9s and Under 11s rotated across five fields throughout the morning. The Can Man provided five hours of continuous service and served more than 300 hot and cold drinks.
The organisers invited The Can Man back as the coffee van of choice for AFL Darling Downs Grand Final day.

Stockman’s Challenge, Kilkivan leg
From 14 to 16 August, The Can Man spent three days at the Stockman’s Challenge at Kilkivan Showgrounds.
The team camped on site for two nights and served from 6 am to 6 pm each day. More than 400 hot and cold coffees were served for competitors, crews and spectators.
The event also led to referrals to organisers of other major events in the region.
Holly Dawson, President of the Kilkivan Show and Campdraft Association, said:
“Thank you for coming, everyone commented on how great the coffee was. I will pass your details on to the organisers of the big events we have coming up in the area throughout the year.”
Capalaba Warriors District Junior Rugby League Finals Day
On Saturday 29 August, The Can Man returned to junior rugby league for Capalaba Warriors District Junior Rugby League Finals Day.
The club invited The Can Man back and wants to include the service at more events across 2027.
Tweed United Football Club
On Sunday 30 August, The Can Man served Tweed United Football Club’s club day from start to finish.
The event added another type of crowd to the quarter’s record, with service running across a full club day rather than a short competition window.
AFLQ Darling Downs AFL Grand Final
On Saturday 5 September, The Can Man returned to Toowoomba for the AFLQ Darling Downs AFL Grand Final.
The booking followed the successful junior carnival in August. The organisers invited The Can Man back for Coolaroo FC and further AFLQ events.
Wynnum Manly Jazz and Swing Festival
On Sunday 6 September, The Can Man served at the Wynnum Manly Jazz and Swing Festival.
The organisers rebooked The Can Man on the spot for Bayside Carols in December.
Pimpama City FC Junior Presentation Day
On Sunday 13 September, The Can Man served Pimpama City FC Junior Presentation Day.
The club gave The Can Man an official thank you and extended a standing invitation for next season.
Emma Sutton, Head of Club Development at Pimpama City Football Club, said:
“Everyone was absolutely raving about the coffee (myself included)! We look forward to working with you again next season.”
Shark Rally, Gunalda
The quarter finished with the Shark Rally at Gunalda from Saturday 19 to Sunday 20 September.
The event had a crowd of around 500 people. The Can Man camped on site and served through the morning rush before returning home.
The organisers have invited The Can Man back in 2027.
What made the quarter work
The service model stayed consistent, even when the events changed.
Some bookings needed early starts. Some ran all day. Kokoda ran overnight. Stockman’s Challenge required three full days on site. Other events involved junior sport, school families or festival audiences.
The common requirements were simple:
- Arrive ready to work.
- Provide proper barista coffee.
- Keep the service moving.
- Work without relying on venue power or water.
- Leave the organiser with one less problem to manage.
The Can Man’s BYD Shark 6 tows and powers the matte black gull-wing trailer. The trailer carries 120 litres of filtered water and operates without a generator, leads, venue power or venue water.

That setup gives organisers more flexibility when planning a coffee van for a sporting event Brisbane, a coffee van for a market or a coffee van for a festival.
Barista coffee comes first
The main service is barista coffee made on a commercial two-group espresso machine and grinder.
Hot coffee is available in 8oz and 12oz sizes:
- 8oz coffee: $5
- 12oz coffee: $6
- Any milk included
- Any syrup included
- No upcharges
Cold drinks are sealed fresh in clear PET cans in front of the customer. Iced lattes and specialty iced lattes are the focus of that line.
Iced tea, energy sodas, canned energy drinks and American sodas are also available as secondary options.

Regular customers can also use The Can Club. Every fifth drink is free.
What the run sheet means for organisers
The quarter has shown that The Can Man can work across short bookings, full days, overnight service and multi day events.
A typical booking conversation covers the event date, location, expected attendance, start and finish times and the available space. A level spot for the BYD Shark 6 and trailer is required.
The Can Man does not need venue power or water. No power was drawn from any venue during this event run.
That makes the service suitable for fields, showgrounds, foreshore locations, holiday parks, schools, clubs and other sites where infrastructure can be limited.
Where The Can Man is based
The Can Man is based in Cleveland QLD and serves Cleveland, the Redlands, Brisbane bayside and wider South East Queensland.
The event record also includes service across the Gold Coast hinterland, the Gold Coast and the Darling Downs.
Upcoming bookings include:
- Stockman’s Challenge Tansey leg on Saturday 26 September 2026

- All seven Legends of the Valley Lockyer Valley Speedway rounds from November 2026 to May 2027
The calendar fills because repeat bookings and invitations are already being secured. However, there are still opportunities for new event enquiries and regular workplace or construction site coffee runs.
